Introduction
Walking away from a life that has caused you nothing but pain and suffering is the most powerful thing you can ever do for yourself. It is also the most difficult thing to do because there are so many different anchors holding you down and forcing you to stay in your current situation. At some point you’ll be faced with a crossroads moment or breaking point and when you’re faced with that moment, the question is: Will you stay or will you break free towards a new life that is waiting for you?
Cause and Effect
Whether it’s poverty, domestic violence, drug addiction, childhood trauma, depression or any form of abuse, it’s important to identify and address what is fueling your suffering because it greatly increases the the risk of suicidal ideation, self harm and other devastating effects that there is no escape from. There’s never a perfect time to start your journey of healing and it’s never too late to take action.
Trust the Process
The beginning of healing starts with making yourself a priority and denying access to anything or anyone that is influential or is directly contributing to your suffering. Everything from holding yourself accountable down to cutting off individuals regardless of their status of your life, you have to find a place of solitary and solitude so your life can become a blank canvas where you can finally have a fresh start and begin to live the life you’ve always imagined.
It Won’t Be Easy But It Will Be Worth It
During the journey of changing, you’ll become unrecognizable to everyone in your family, friends and even to yourself. This will place you in an unfamiliar place that you’ve never been before and you will be vulnerable, afraid, lonely, and at times anxious. During these moments you’ll rediscover yourself, find the discipline to break every bad habit and reconnect with your purpose in life.
Conclusion
Regardless of what cards you were dealt in this life, no one deserves to suffer in any capacity. The truth is that you’re not alone. We are all fighting a silent battle within ourselves to some extent. We all deserve the best experiences that life has to offer and that’s something worth fighting for. If you have children or are currently in a relationship, it may take a little longer to plan and strategize your path to healing, but there’s nothing that can stop you from living the life that God has intended for you. The most important part is this: Keep fighting during every setback and never give up. The choice is yours and the power to change your life will always be in your hands.
